Board Of Education Meeting Summary 2/18/20

Superintendent Jennifer Fano announced that Randolph Township Schools has designated March as both Youth Art Month and Music in Our Schools Month. As part of that recognition, she invited District Visual & Performing Arts Supervisor Frank Perrone to provide an update on the status of the department. Mr. Perrone spoke about the district’s comprehensive K-12 arts education initiatives since 2015. Some highlights mentioned included the renovation of the Randolph Middle School Auditorium, the Culinary Arts room renovations at both Randolph High School and Randolph Middle School, new band uniforms, and the orchestra/choir room renovations at Randolph High School. Mr. Perrone thanked the community for their support of various referendum projects, the boosters for their support of our programs, and our teaching staff.

Communications committee chair Rob Soni provided a brief update on communications and personnel committee. Education committee chair Allison Manfred reported on a social emotional learning presentation that was presented at the education committee meeting earlier that evening. FFT committee chair Jeanne Stifelman outlined potential changes in the scope of services for the new facility project on Bauer Field as recommended by the district’s architect Greg Somjen. There is confidence that these changes will result in a bid that is lower than the first time the project was bid.
