Varsity Girls Soccer Claims 2019 Morris County Tournament Championship
Varsity Girls Soccer defeated Kinnelon this evening to secure the 2019 Morris County Tournament Championship. The Rams have not won the title in many years making the victory even more special for our student athletes. Senior Ellie Sciancalepore was given the Most Valuable Player award for the tournament. When asked what this win meant to her and what it feels like to be MVP:
“It’s a dream come true. Coming into this game I thought about the past ten years of watching county finals. Randolph has been in the running year in and year out and it’s just amazing to be here and actually win it. Being MVP is amazing, but I am just excited to share the championship with my girls. It’s just a bonus to all of the hard work we put in to win tonight. I am looking forward to the rest of the season. Every single game brings its challenges, high points, and low points. That’s the grind of it. I look forward to continuing to play with my girls and making the most out of my senior season.”
The team has their sights set on competing for a state title. There are still many challenges ahead as the team prepares to enter the post season. You can stay up to date on their schedule for the remainder of the season by visiting the district’s athletic website.
