What's Happening In Our District: Winter Weather Safety

I wanted to take an opportunity to thank the dedicated members of our Randolph community who make it possible for our students and staff to get to and from school safely during the unpredictable winter weather. We saw their expertise and planning first-hand on Monday when over nine inches of snow fell in our area over night. A delayed opening was called, and everything was ready to go for students and staff to come to school. Early Monday morning the custodial staff, grounds and maintenance staff, and bus mechanics had all school facilities and campuses cleared of hazardous snow and ice and our buses and drivers were on the roads, safely bringing our students to their schools. These teams, led by Andy Hurd, Marcelo Gosiker, and John Aymil deserve our thanks and recognition for the amazing work they do behind the scenes. We also want to give a special "thank you" to the teams at Randolph Township and Morris County that prepared and cleared our roads to allow for safe transportation. It is truly a team effort, and while we all hope spring is around the corner, we know that these professionals will keep our community safe and running smoothly if winter stays around a bit longer.
