Center Grove Elementary
United States Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona recognized 297 schools as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2022. The recognition is based on a school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. Up to 420 schools may be nominated each year for recognition. The United States Department of Education invites nominations for the National Blue Ribbon Schools award from the top education official in all states, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories, the Department of Defense Education Activity, and the Bureau of Indian Education. Center Grove Elementary was invited to apply, and was chosen as a recipient of a National Blue Ribbon School Award for 2022. Only nine schools in the state of New Jersey were recognized. This is the first time one of our schools has been nominated and awarded.

Center Grove Elementary fosters a positive and safe learning environment for all students. Social and emotional learning plays an integral role in a Center Grove Elementary education and is essential for the education of the whole child. Student voice and choice are cornerstones of our student-centered classrooms. We believe in fostering students' natural curiosity so they feel connected to and excited about learning. Our instructional models offer rigorous opportunities for students to design and create through hands-on, authentic learning experiences that help students to feel empowered and thus, more likely to transfer their learning into real world experiences. By focusing on building learning structures that support students in growing their critical thinking and problem-solving skills, we create a foundation for success that will follow students into middle school, high school and post-graduation.
