Jonathan Olsen

The Randolph Board of Education approved Jonathan Olsen as the Director of Secondary Education in 2015. Mr. Olsen was previously the district's humanities supervisor and had served in that position since 2013. Prior to coming to Randolph he taught at High Technology High School in Lincroft, New Jersey. High Technology is a pre-engineering academy consistently ranked as the #1 STEM high school in the nation by U.S. News. While at High Tech, Mr. Olsen also served as curriculum coordinator for the five high schools in the Monmouth County Vocational School District.
 
Mr. Olsen has presented on topics ranging from instructional technology to literacy. Besides his own blog, he has written for a number of others including Scientific American, Washington Post, ASCD, and Edutopia. He was also a regular contributor to The New York Times where he and department faculty explored innovative educational activities and the role of nonfiction in schools. He was named High Technology's teacher of the year in 2009.
