Mrs. Mongelli (formerly Ms. Germinario)
Biology A: This year in Biology you will learn how to study the living world around you using the process of science (and engineering!). Our class is going to be challenging, collaborative, and fun. Some highlights to look forward to include designing your own cell phone camera microscope, the Algae Farm engineering design challenge, the smoothie project, and more.
About me: I am looking forward to getting to know my students this year, which will be my 7th year at RHS. I am well known at RHS for my production of biology nature videos, so get ready to make your own in Biology class this year I am excited to bring both aspects of science and engineering to my science class this year, based on a program I participated in through Stevens Institute of Technology for the past two summers. In past summers, I traveled to Costa Rica to learn how to best bring real science and exploration to the classroom, and also participated in a Marine Biology institute in New Hampshire. Below are some pictures of me in the cloud forests of Costa Rica, in the tidal pools of New Hampshire, and with a Golden Orb Weaver spider in Costa Rica. I am also an artist/photographer. Ask to see some of my work!
