    The Community School is accepting registration for its spring session of Young Rembrandts Art Classes:

    Please mark your calendars for the following dates:

    Center Grove (8 weeks): Tuesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the school art room. Class dates: April 18 and 25, May 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 and June 6. (Makeup date June 30.)

    Ironia (8 weeks) : Wednesdays from, 5:30-6:30 p.m. Class dates: April 19 and 26, May 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 and June 7. (Makeup date June 14.)

    Fernbrook (7 weeks): Thursdays from 4-5 p.m. Class dates: April 20 and 27, May 4, 11, 18, 25 and June 8.

    Shongum Art Room 26 (8 weeks): Tuesdays from 3:45-4:45 p.m. Class dates: April 18 and 25, May 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 and June 6. (Makeup date June 13.)

    Randolph Middle School (8 weeks): !!!!! CANCELLED !!!!Cartooning Classes for RMS students offered on Thursdays from 3:15-4:15 p.m. in room c109. (Students can take the 4:30 p.m. late bus.) Class dates: April 20, 27, May 4, 11, 18, 25 and June 1 and 8


    Classes cost $135 for eight one-hour classes or $115 for seven one-hour classes.

    Young Rembrandts Summer Program

    • The Randolph Community School will offer a Drawing Summer Workshop 2017 with Young Rembrandts at Shongum and Center Grove elementary school in August.

      The four-day programs are for young artists entering grades 1-5 in the fall. Each week costs $160 per child.

      Week 1: August 7-10 9 a.m. to noon at Shongum: Drawing Summer Workshop 2017 Fashion, Faces & Flowers

      For fashionistas, florists and budding makeup artists, the Young Rembrandts' workshop will challenge students every day drawing images that exude femininity and loveliness. Students will draw and color faces, stretch their imaginations illustrating whimsical flowers and challenged their creativity when tying them all together in fanciful settings. Prepare for elegance and a heap of drawing excellence.

      Week 2: August 14-17 1-4 p.m. at Shongum: Pastel Drawing Workshop Summer 2017 World of Dinosaurs

      Travel back in time to the land of the lost. Join Young Rembrandts for a workshop celebrating a favorite topic: dinosaurs! Every day students will learn to use pastels to create impressive and frame-worthy art. Artists will draw and color different types of dinosaurs in varying artistic styles ranging from realism, graphic and cartoon. Perfect for boys or girls who love the ancient world of big lizards!

      Week 3: August 21-24 1-4 p.m. at Center Grove: Favorite Apps and Video Games "All New!"

      Art is around us, including on phones and online! Join Young Rembrandts for a workshop mimicking the amazing imagery of our Favorite Apps and Video games. Every day students will learn new illustration and coloring techniques inspired by popular video games. Artwork is inspired by pixel block characters, plants, zombies and many more classic apps and games. if your child loves to game or draw, they will have a blast putting their own personal touches on some of these favorites!

      Week 4: August 28-31 1-4 p.m. at Center Grove: PASTEL DRAWING WORKSHOP 2017: PATTERN AND DESIGN - A WORLD TOUR

      Young Rembrandts will offer a 4-day chalk pastel drawing class! Explore multicultural art in our Worldly Artistic Designs workshop. We begin our world tour in Mexico as we draw several welcoming, colorful doorways. Next, we journey to Africa and explore the design intricacies of African crafts. Our artistic enlightenment doesn’t stop there; we’ll move on to design Paisley patterns, an ancient design embraced by many cultures. Then, Asian paper lanterns will shed light on the Far Eastern design styles. Our travels end in Russia as we illustrate a mainstay of Russian architecture – the onion dome. These classes will be messy fun, so dress appropriately.
