Canadian Wildfires
Randolph Learning Community,
The district has been monitoring air quality conditions in Randolph Township since yesterday afternoon. We have been in communication with both local and state officials. As a result of the Canadian wildfires, outdoor activities were proactively moved indoors last night for today, June 7. After reviewing tomorrow’s forecast and guidelines provided by health officials, all outdoor activities for tomorrow, June 8 will be moved indoors as well. Schools will remain open tomorrow and additional precautions have been taken to control indoor air quality which includes keeping doors and windows closed throughout the school day.
AirNow, a partner of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, reports air quality using the official U.S. Air Quality Index (AQI), a color-coded index designed to communicate whether air quality is healthy or unhealthy for you. Up to date information about the air quality in Randolph Township can be accessed in the following link on AirNow’s official website:

Schools will be closed on Friday as scheduled. We will continue to monitor the air quality forecast for next week over the weekend. The district or our building leadership teams will communicate directly with families regarding additional activities or events that may need to be moved indoors which may include celebratory events such as graduation. The district will continue to operate its normal school schedule tomorrow, and work within the guidelines provided by local and state regulatory agencies.
