Advanced Placement

  • AP Coursework and Exams

In 2019-2020, RHS will offer thirty-three AP courses across all departments. A list can be found in the curriculum handbook tab.

When enrolled in an AP course, students complete college-level coursework while in high school demonstrating to college admissions officers that they have sought out an educational experience that is rigorous and prepares them for success in college and beyond.

Each May, AP students take the corresponding AP exams and performing well on these assessments can mean much more than the successful completion of an AP course.  Most colleges and universities accept successful AP exam scores for credit, advanced placement, or both.  Further, research consistently shows that the students who are successful in AP typically experience greater academic success in college than those who do not participate in AP.

    AP Exams

For the 2020 AP exams, students at Randolph High School will register online.  This registration will take a few minutes and can be completed from any computer with internet access.

This year each AP exam costs $98.00 (The AP Seminar and AP Research fee is $146 and AP Chinese is $121).  Randolph High School desires that every student be able to take their AP exams.  Students requiring financial assistance should contact Ms. Nicole Landers in the School Counseling office to learn more.

Although online registration concluded on October 2, 2019, we will open another late registration window as permitted by the college board.  This late registration window will include a college board, late registration fee of $50.

Late Registration - will open on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 and close on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at 12:00pm.

All students registering during this late window will automatically be placed on a waitlist. Once the registration is approved, students and families will be asked to log back onto their Total Registration account and pay their remaining balance by March 1st, 2020.

In order to register, students MUST click on the link provided on the school website or visit Total Registration to register.  To complete registration, students must answer all of the required questions.  Registration is not complete until students have printed the pdf of the confirmation page that is provided at the end.  We know that parents may desire to register their students for exams.  We strongly recommend that parents and students are both present while registering to ensure that the correct exams are ordered.  Students who have taken an AP in previous years, will use the same account.  In order to finalize the AP order, all students will need to complete their registration on their College Board account.  Total Registration will direct them to do so after their registration.

Randolph High School is excited to offer families the convenience of paying exam fees online at the time of registration.  Please be sure to have a credit card or debit card available before beginning registration.

**March 1, 2020- 12:00 pm is the last day to cancel an exam to receive a partial refund ($40 cancellation fee per exam). Cancellations need to be completed and approved through Total Registration.

Please contact Ms. Nicole Landers ( if you have any questions.
